Strengthening Agricultural Production through Technical Assistance and International Cooperation

In Huehuetenango, Mr. Pascual exemplifies the tangible impact of technical assistance and specialized support provided by PRO-INNOVA, with the backing of the United States Government.

Mr. Pascual has dedicated his life to the production of staple grains and avocados, enhancing his skills through active participation in the ADIPY Association over the past eight years. Thanks to the training and knowledge exchange facilitated by PRO-INNOVA and Agropecuaria Popoyán, he has adopted good agricultural practices such as pruning management and efficient crop management.

These efforts have yielded concrete results: his production increased from 20 to 30 quintals per 20 cuerdas of land, in addition to achieving an avocado yield of 2,500 units. Improvements in both yield and quality have allowed Mr. Pascual to increase his income and strengthen his family’s economic stability, establishing a model of sustainable rural development.

Over the past two years, Agropecuaria Popoyán has closely collaborated with the ADIPY Association, promoting field days, experience sharing, and access to agricultural technologies that enhance sector productivity. Through this support, Mr. Pascual has also received avocado plants and coffee seedlings, diversifying his production and generating new commercial opportunities.

Once again, PRO-INNOVA reaffirms its commitment to inclusive and sustainable economic development in rural communities in Guatemala, promoting the adoption of agricultural innovations that strengthen competitiveness and ensure better living conditions for farming families.
