ADIPY and PRO-INNOVA: Promoting Sustainable Coffee Production and Commercialization in Huehuetenango

The Yamanoh Integral Productive Development Association (ADIPY), located in Huehuetenango, has been working since 1992 to strengthen agricultural production and coffee commercialization. It was founded by 50 pioneering producers who sought new market opportunities for their crops.

Today, ADIPY brings together 376 organic coffee producers, offering microcredit services, technical assistance, and specialized guidance to improve the livelihoods of its members. Over the past three years, the association has strengthened its capacity through collaboration with ProCompite and PRO-INNOVA, implementing strategies to add value to coffee and open new markets.

Thanks to this joint effort, ADIPY has successfully commercialized 25,000 quintals of parchment coffee, highlighting the export of 5,500 quintals in 2024—a figure that has now grown to 6,651 quintals—demonstrating steady and sustainable growth. This progress reflects the importance of technical assistance, specialized guidance, and the collective commitment of producers and strategic partners.

The partnership among ADIPY, PRO-INNOVA, and ProCompite not only strengthens agricultural production but also promotes competitiveness, rural economic development, and the generation of sustainable income for farming families in Huehuetenango.
